Adrienne M. Valcourt

Adrienne M. (Gervais) Valcourt, 88, beloved wife of the late Eugene J. Valcourt, of Groton, formerly of Westford, passed peacefully May 31, 2011 in Ayer. Born in Westford, MA on July 28, 1922, daughter of the late George and Maria (Brule) Gervais. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Valcourt worked at Fort Devens as a mechanics helper during World War II, later worked for Hanley Yarn in Forge Village, and finally retired from the Abbot Worsted Company, also in the Forge Village section of Westford. In her leisure time, Mrs. Valcourt enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, word search books, and was an avid sports fan following all New England professional teams. She is survived by five children - Dennis Valcourt and his wife Rebecca, Jane Lamy and her husband Leo, George Valcourt and his wife Paula, Suzanne Ricard and her husband Garry, Margaret Collins and her husband Alvin; ten grandchildren - Lisa Aho and her husband Joshua, Heather Picariello, Cynthia Phelps and her husband John, Brian Lamy and his wife Colleen, Jeffrey Valcourt and his wife Lyndsey, Jamie Valcourt and her fiance Kevin Dancause, Ryan Valcourt and Chrissy Goulet, Michael Ricard and his wife Heidi, Matthew Ricard, and Andrew Collins; two step-grandchildren; Alvin Collins and his wife Jennifer, and Karin Madden and her husband Thomas; ten great-grandchildren - Jacob Nonni-Ricard, Nicholas, Olivia and Lilly Valcourt, Abigail Phelps, Caleb and Brody Lamy, Arianna and Anthony Picariello, and Maci Collins; by two sisters - Denise Reynolds, and Lucille Bennett and her husband Vincent; a brother - Aime Gervais and his wife Gena; and the late Daniel Gervais.Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 3 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Healy Funeral Home. Adrienne's funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00AM at Saint Catherines Church, 107 North Main St. Westford, followed by burial in St. Catherines Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions in her name to the Groton Ambulance Fund, 173 Main St. Groton MA 01450, or Nashoba Nursing and Hospice, 2 Shaker Rd Suite D225 Shirley MA 01464
