Aubrey David Haschick, 73, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Eleanor (Young) Haschick, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
He was born in King William’s Town, South Africa on October 4, 1949, and was the son of the late Ruth (Kretzmann) and Victor Haschick. He received his PhD in physics and worked as a research scientist at Haystack Observatory for 14 years.
Aubrey happily spent time on his computer communicating with friends and loved ones. He was often outside, listening to the birds, enjoying the sun and the landscape. He was accompanied by by his musical preferences ranging from classical to folk and gospel. Despite his limitations, Aubrey always had cheerful smile and a ready joke.
In addition to his wife Ruth, Aubrey is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jeanine Zarth and her husband Peter of Germany; his grandson, Theo; his brother, Jeffrey Haschick and his wife Beryl of South Africa; his sister, Althea Bradfield and her husband Russel of South Africa; as well as his many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Aubrey’s Celebration of Life on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2 PM at Faith Worship Center, 2 Lomar Park, Pepperell, MA 01463. His graveside burial will take place on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 10 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford.
