Bernard William Mills MacDonald, known to many as Bernie, passed away on June 1, 2024, at his home in Westford, at the age of 83. He was born on April 9, 1941 in Derbyshire, England.
Bernie is survived by his daughters, Judith Field McGloin and her husband John McGloin of Marshfield, Kimberley MacGillivray and her husband Darrin of Northborough and Wendy Prescott of Keene, NH; his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Napoli, Whitney Pulsifer, Spenser Field, Justin, Benjamin, Michael and Ethan MacGillivray and Veronica and Abigail Prescott and his great-grandchildren, Harper and Brayden Napoli and Ashley, Ellie, and Nolan Pulsifer.
He was predeceased in death by his father, Bernard William Mills and his mother, Patricia Mills MacDonald.
Bernie was the owner and founder of Quality Auto Accessories (QAA) in Westford. He began his career at Ford Motor Company in 1963. From there, he worked at the New England Toyota Distributor, until 1978, when he started QAA.
A memorial service to honor Bernie's life will be held on Saturday, June 15th, promptly at 11AM, on the property and pond adjacent to 243 Concord Road, Westford. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA, 02215, a cause close to Bernie's heart.
Bernie will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, hard work and the love he shared with his family. He was loyal to his employees, passionate about cars, and loved to travel. Bernie was very athletic, enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing and fishing in his beloved pond and in the deeps seas. He held a special place in his heart for everyone who would join him for coffee each morning at Kimball Farm. His legacy will live on through the memories and values he instilled in those who knew him.
