WESTFORD: Bernard J. Ricard, age 81, a lifelong resident of Westford, died unexpectedly on May 13, 2015, at his residence following a battle with cancer.
He was born June 21, 1933, son of the late Maxime & Rosa (Brule) Ricard. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He worked in the sheet metal industry for many years, as well as an electrician and a carpenter.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish. He enjoyed watching the Bruins and the Red Sox. He became a member of the Franco American Club at the age of 18. He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign War, Mattawanakee Post 6539 in Forge Villiage.
Survivors include four daughters, Susan Tokenal of Windham NH, Michelle Thorp of Manchester NH, Lisa Willoughby of Melbourne FL, and Lynn Buchanan of Mont Belvieu TX; a brother, Viateur "Victor" Ricard of Westford; a sister, Marie Delodge of Groton; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews & cousins. He was also brother of the late Gerard Ricard, George Ricard, Theresa L'Heureux, Olivine Pierro, Ida Finilla, Bernardette McCarthy and Claire Dozois.
ARRANGEMENTS,.Relatives & Friends will be received at the J.A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 North Main St., Westford, MA on Tuesday May 19, 2015 from 4 until 7 pm.
