Brian J. Budinger passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen following a yearlong battle with Leukemia. He was 46.
Born in Lowell on June 12, 1973, Brian was a son of the late Arthur B. "Bo" Budinger, III and Carol C. (Cover) Budinger of Westford who survives him.
Brian was educated in Westford and graduated from Daniel Webster College with a Bachelor of Science degree in management. A natural businessman and inventor, Brian established Tall Guy Games. His company designed and developed board games. He is very proud of his games "The Chase" and "The Majority Rules."
Brian was an avid chess player who was ranked as one of the top players in the state. He also enjoyed teaching others how to play. In his youth Brian was a member of the Boy Scouts and attained the Eagle Scout which is the highest rank in scouting. In earlier years he looked forward to taking karate classes with his father and sister Brenda and attained the rank of blue belt. Attracted to the outdoors, Brian enjoyed hiking, especially the White Mountains. As a member of the local Kiwanis club, he was in charge of parking for the annual Westford Apple Blossom Parade.
Surviving Brian besides his mother are a brother and sister in law, Bruce D. and Cheryl-Lynn Budinger of Groton; a sister and brother in law, Brenda S. and Thomas Weschke of Addelstone, UK; a niece and nephew, Katherine and Bruce Jr.; and several aunts, uncles, and friends.
Brian's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the staff at the Hematology/Oncology department of Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA for the exceptional care, compassion, love and friendship that he received throughout his treatment.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the United Church of Westford, 10 Church St. Westford on Friday, October 4 from 11:00 pm to 12:00 pm. His funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
