Beloved Husband, Father and Brother

Brian F. Maher, age 64, a resident of Westford, died on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from complications due to a spinal cord injury. He was the beloved husband of Linda L. (Silveira) Maher.

Brian was born in Athens, Georgia on May 29, 1959 and was the son of the late Emily Anne (Brown) and William J. Maher. He graduated from Wellesley High School in 1977 and went on to earn his B.S. in Engineering from Northeastern University. His career spanned 40 years in the Information Technology field highlighted by employment at Digital Equipment Corp., Computer Aid Inc., Bose Corp. and Mass Mutual Insurance.

Brian’s devotion to Linda and their boys was always fully on display. Kyle and Ryan were his top priority and his greatest joy was spending time with them and family.

He loved his home improvement projects and enjoyed traveling, especially to his homes away from home, Cape Cod and Sarasota, FL. Brian was also a member of the Vesper Country Club.

In addition to his wife Linda, Brian is survived and will be deeply missed by his two sons, Kyle Maher and his fiancé Elizabeth Worrilow of Quincy and Ryan Maher of New York; his siblings, William Maher and his wife Jennifer of Maryland, Maureen Johnson and her husband Thomas of Weston, Thomas Maher and his partner Arlene Hammel of Westford, Delia Connors and her husband Michael of Norwood, Stephen Maher and his wife Claire of Walpole and David Maher and his wife Pam of Rhode Island; his two sisters-in-law, Pam Maher and Diane Silva and her husband Keith; his father-in-law, Herbert Silveira; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Maher.

Relatives and friends are invited to Brian’s Celebration of Life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 4PM until 7PM at the WESTFORD HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main Street, Westford. His Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at BLESSED TRINITY PARISH-ST CATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA CHURCH, 107 N. Main Street, Westford. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the Jack Trottier Foundation, 44 Chestnut Road, Tyngsboro, MA 01879.
