N. ANDOVER, MA - Dorothy"Dottie”(Gervais)Bergamini, age86, formerly of Westford, passed awayonSunday, February 21, 2016 in N. Andover.She was born in Cambridge onApril 15,1929, a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Diotte) Gervais.Dorothywas the wife of the late Angelo L.Bergamini and mother to the lateAnneMarie(Bowman). She is survived by herdaughter,Louise (Furia) and her husband Mark of Ayer; her two sons, Michael and his wife,Georgiann“Gigi”,ofPlainvilleandAndrewand his wife, Joanne,of Westfordand 5 grandchildren.Known to many as “Ma” and “Dottie”,shewaswell known in her neighborhood to always have an open door to her neighbors and her children’s friends. More often than not, there was an extrapersonseated atthefamilydinner table.While living in Westford,Dottiewasactive in her communityandhelped volunteerwith church showsandsuppers,and her children’s school functions. For over 25 years,shewasemployed bytheDeMoulas/Market Basket Supermarket chainand knownand loved by many. Dottie would be at many store openings in the role of official greeter, saying hello with her bright smile.Dottie resided at the Sutton Hill Center for the past several years wherethestaffcared for herwith love and compassion.Dottie’s family isespecially grateful to them for their years ofservice to her.ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Thursday,February 25 from 4 until 8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment will be private.For those who seek an alternative to flowers, the family asks you to consider donations to the Sutton Hill Center Resident Fund to help the staff continue to care for their residents.
