GROTON - Douglas James Palmisano, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 in Groton. He was the husband of the late Bonnie (Erisman) Palmisano who passed away in 2007.Doug was born in Lincoln, NE on July 10, 1949, a son of Louella (Carlson) Palmisano of Stow, MA who survives him and the late Salvatore Palmisano. He was a longtime resident of Groton and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a driver with Concord Oil Company in Concord, MA for over forty years. Doug was a hard worker and very committed to his job. His many interests included history, motorcycles, horses and canoe racing in his younger years.Besides his mother, Louella, he is survived by his three children, Ivan Hoyt and his wife Lisa of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Justin Palmisano and his wife Teresa of Hampton, VA, and Ashley Palmisano and her husband Edward O'Dell of Groton; three grandchildren, Ivan Kenneth Hoyt, V, Joseph Palmisano and Edward O'Dell, IV; two siblings, Galen Palmisano and Elaina Satterfield; also many dear friends. Arrangements - Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Visitation at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 2 until 6pm. A gathering will immediately follow at the VFW Post 6539, 67 W. Prescott St., Westford.
