WESTFORD - Earle C. Hopkins, Jr., age 86, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Chelmsford after an extended illness. For sixty-seven years, he was the beloved husband of Nancy C. (Wood) Hopkins. He was born in Arlington on July 3, 1931, a son of the late Earle and Jennie (Chatfield) Hopkins. Earle grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School, class of 1948. He went on to further his education at the Boston University College of Communication graduating in 1954. He was served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956. Earle worked in the banking industry during most of his career. He was the president of Waverley Cooperative Bank in Belmont which later became Reliance Cooperative Bank where he served as chairman. He was also a longtime amateur radio enthusiast. Besides his loving wife, Nancy, he is survived by his three children, Stephen Hopkins of Westford, Nancy Zink of Ayer and Karen Auger and her husband, Dean of Littleton and two grandchildren, Justin and Nathan Zink. He was the brother of the late Ruth Hopkins. ARRANGEMENTS - Family and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., Westford, on Tuesday, June 19, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. His funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 11:30am followed by a procession to Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge for a graveside service at 1pm.
