MILFORD, NH - Edward L. "Ted" Dinneen, Jr., age 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at The Elms Center in Milford, NH after a long battle with dementia.He was born in Lowell on March 23, 1945, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Healy) Dinneen. Ted was raised in Lowell, received his education through Lowell schools and graduated from the Greater Lowell Technical High School. He was a resident of Milford, NH for several years and wasformerlyof York, ME where he resided for ten years.Among his many interests, Ted was everything from a truck driver and small business ownerto a licensed Funeral Director in the state of Massachusetts. If it interested him, he pursued it. He owned and operated Dinneen& Son Garage and Dinneen and Company Limousine Service in Lowell for many years. In 1992, he graduated from Mt. Ida College where he received his degree in Funeral Directing. He went on to become the director of the anatomy lab at Boston University for many years from which he retired.Ted loved the beach, taking long drives, music, especially Elvis and had a great sense of humor.He is survived by his three children, Sean Dinneen and his wife, Carrie of Plymouth, MA, Tim Dinneen and his wife, Kathleen of Manchester, NH, and Shealagh Soares and her husband, Elder of Nashua, NH; his former wife, Eileen (Queenan) Dinneen of Dracut; five grandchildren, Nora, Bridget, Celia, Brady and Meghan; three siblings, Carole Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mary Gail Gould of Southport, NC and Robert Dinneen of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Bonni Dinneen of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Sears, Kathryn Dinneen and Joseph Dinneen.ARRANGEMENTS- Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ted on Friday, Jan.13, from 4 to 8pm at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Michael Church, 543 Bridge St., Lowell (Friends are asked to please go directlyto church). Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/donate .
