Mr. Edward James Donahue, age 83, of Westford, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Margaret (Kavanagh) Donahue. He was Born in Ayer, MA on September 1, 1929, son of the late George L. & Anna (Sullivan) Donahue. A Graduate of Lawrence Academy, Ed later Earned a B.A. and M.A. from Boston College. He was commissioned and served in the US Navy after completing Officer Candidate School, and served during the Korean Conflict. He previously acted as volunteer ambulance driver in Ayer, MA. He owned a Chevrolet dealership for 35 years and taught in the Ayer Public Schools for many years. Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by his children, Edward and his wife Megan Donahue of Norfolk, MA, David Donahue of London, England, William and his wife Stacia Donahue of Harvard, MA, Megan and her husband Thomas Michal of Westford, MA; his grandchildren, Colleen, Caitlin, and Thomas Donahue of Norfolk, MA, Alexandra and Joseph Donahue of Harvard, MA, and Lillian and Erica Michal of Westford, MA. He was predeceased by his son Eric George Donahue.Relatives and friends may call Wednesday May 29 from 5-8 PM at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, May 30 at 10 AM in the Church, followed by burial at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Westford.In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations maybe made to the Westford Ambulance Fund, PO Boc 197, Westford, MA 01886 or St. Vincent De Paul Society of Saint Catherine Parish, Westford.
