Edward J. Quinlan, of Westford, passed away on July 8, 2011 at The Life Care Center of Littleton, MA after a 3 year battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of Sheryl (Alcorn) Quinlan. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Connolly) Quinlan. Raised and educated in Lowell, Edward graduated from the Lowell Vocational Technical High School. Edward also was part owner of FI Office of Lowell, MA, a new and refurbished office furniture company. Edward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. His greatest joy in his life was his family and there was nothing more he looked forward to each day than spending quality time with his wife, four children, and recent granddaughter. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Erin Quinlan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Morgan Quinlan of Nashua, NH and Abigail Quinlan and Adam Quinlan of Westford, Massachusetts, and a grandchild, Avery Hall of Salt Lake City, Utah. Edward is also survived by six brothers, Thomas and his wife Helene of Lowell, MA, Stephen and his wife Deborah of Londonderry, NH, John and his wife Linda of Titusville, Florida, Garrett and his wife Alice of Pepperell, MA, and his younger brother and business partner James and his wife Tracey, of Hudson, NH, four sisters; Patricia and her husband Raymond Rice of Punta Gorda, Florida, Sharon and her husband Michael Rousseau of Pelham, NH, Mary and her husband Ronald Payne of Dracut, MA and Theresa and her husband Robert Gaudreau of Dracut, MA and many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Edward also leaves his extended family George and Mary Alcorn, Stacey Alcorn, and Brian Alcorn of Westford as well as his dear friend Tyler Dyer of Westford. Edward was predeceased by his two nephews, Michael C. Rousseau and Owen Quinlan.Friends may call at the Healy Funeral Home on Tuesday July 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine's Church 107 North Main St., Westford.
