Eileen F. (Murphy) Fields, 91, a longtime resident of Westford passed away peacefully on the morning of May 9, 2012 with her devoted husband of 65 years, Floyd by her side. Born in Lowell on February 15, 1921, Eileen was one of four children born to Edward F. Murphy and Nora Ryan Murphy. She was the oldest sister to Marie K. Grande of Westford, MA and Edward Murphy of Lowell, MA and the late Rita Martin. Eileen grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High in 1938. She spent years working at McGowan Educator as a supervisor, where she met her husband, Floyd. They married after a 2 year courtship on September 2, 1947. In the 1950's they moved to Westford where she raised her family. In the 1960's she worked at Raytheon Corporation and retired from Frequency Sources in the 1980's. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time by her pool, taking care of her garden, reading, knitting and spending time with her loving husband and family. Mrs. Fields is survived by her husband, Floyd A. Fields of Westford, MA, her loving daughter Arleen F. (Fields) and her husband Ernest R. Tousignant of Townsend, MA. Her adoring granddaughter Theresa M. Tousignant of Quincy, MA and her grandson Marc E. and his wife Charry M. Tousignant of Lowell, MA. She is also survived by her son, Stephen Fields of New Jersey and 3 grandchildren.Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 11th, 2012 at the J.A. Healy Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
