Eileen Van Gemert

Eileen (Kovalchek) Van Gemert, 63, of Westford, MA, died on August 24, 2012 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Eileen was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on July 27, 1949 to the late George and Helen (McLean) Kovalchek. Eileen was a graduate of Westford Academy. She was married to Roy Van Gemert Sr. for 44 years. Eileen loved family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren, her many pets and weekend boating trips. She was last employed as a communication liaison linking soldiers located in Iraq and Afghanistan to their families and loved ones via telephone. She is survived by her husband, Roy Van Gemert Sr.; sons Roy (and Tammy) Van Gemert, David Van Gemert, and Robert (and Carmen Higgins) Van Gemert; Four grandchildren, Gianna, Emma, Cooper and Lola Van Gemert; Two brothers, George (and Nancy) Kovalchek and David (and Barbara) Kovalchek; One sister, Janice (and Steve) Renock; cousins Wayne (and Donna) Pestana and Gregg Pestana; mother-in-law Catherine Van Gemert; sister-in-law Cathy Tooley; brother-in-law Warren (and Joanne) Van Gemert; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her father-in-law Cornelius Van Gemert and sister-in-law Laurie Crawford.Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 11-12 on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at J.A.
