Elsie M. Gordon

Elsie M "Dolly" Gordon, known as "Dolly", 81 years old, long-time resident of Westford, MA, and recent resident of Hudson, MA ,died on May 12, 2011 at Whittier House in Westboro, MA. Born in Worcester on October 4, 1929 the daughter of the late Arthur T. and Elsie E. (Carlson) Malm. Beloved wife of the late Keith Gordon. Loving mother of Ruth Brandwein of Long Branch, NJ, Charles Gordon and his wife Lynne Hartley of Chelmsford, MA, and Robert Gordon of Hudson, MA. Cherished 'nana' of Kelly Brandwein, of Long Branch, NJ and Russell, Tess, and Gwen Gordon of Chelmsford, MA. Also survived by her niece, Christine (Malm) Lapuc and her husband Paul of Chatham, MA, and many other relatives and friends. Dolly graduated from Skidmore College and attended Boston University, graduating with her Masters Degree in 1954 and taught the 3rd grade until she started a family. Later, Dolly worked at the IRS in Andover, MA as a secretary. She left to take care of her mother and family, and later went to work for the Currier Printing Company in Westford, MA. Dolly was an active congregant of the First Parish Church of Westford, MA where she was a member of the choir for many years. Dolly was happiest when she had her hands busy, and many of her family members have a sweater that she hand knitted. She loved to listen to classical music, do jigsaw puzzles, and spend time with her family. She's remembered fondly for the yummy cookies, bars, and cakes that she baked.brA memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 3 PM at the First Parish Church of Westford.
