Ethel T. Deane

WESTFORD - Ethel T. (Foster) Deane, age 95, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Life Care of Nashoba Valley in Littleton after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Walter A. Deane who passed away in August 2010.
She was born in Lynchburg, VA on June 30, 1921 a daughter of the late Junius and Catherine (Medernach) Foster. Ethel was a resident of Westford since 1973.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a waitress at the Old Oaken Bucket in Westford for many years and previously worked at Jordan Marsh.
Ethel was very skilled at arts and crafts, was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening. She was also an excellent bridge player and enjoyed playing golf and travelling with her husband. Most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her four children, Paul Deane of Marblehead, Jacqueline Deane of Weymouth, Peter Deane, her caregiver for the past fifteen years, of Westford and David Deane of Nashua; also ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Nancy McGlinchey and predeceased by four sisters.
At her request, funeral services will be held privately at Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701-1803.
