WESTFORD - Francis M. 'Pikey" Daly, a lifelong resident of the Forge Village section of Westford, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, with his beloved family by his side.
Born in Lowell on April 6, 1949, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Winifred (Connell) Daly.
Pikey was a graduate of Westford Academy and was an avid softball player in his youth.
Pikey met his true life partner at Forge Pond, and in 1971 he wed his beloved wife of 49 years, Diane M. Holmes.
Pikey was a self proclaimed "social butterfly," enjoying time razzing friends at the Idle Hour, the American Legion and the VFW in Westford. If you called him Pikey, you knew he was born and bred in Forge Village. If you called him Frank, you worked with him at Raytheon where he worked for 49 years prior to retirement, and you were one of many memorable friends. If he called you #*#!, you knew you were a friend.
Pikey realized his dream when he and his friends built a true vacation getaway on Fields Pond in Maine. There he entertained family and friends ice fishing and snowmobiling, always with a Miller Lite in hand.
In addition to his wife Diane he leaves two children, Melissa (Daly) Sferrazza and her husband John of Hooksett, NH and Michael F. Daly and his wife Shirlee (Law) of Hudson, NH; five grandchildren, Madison, Ella, Aidenn, Mason and Maddax; three sisters, Peggy Pomerleau and her husband Tim, Maureen Townsend and her husband Paul, all of Hudson, NH and Susan Daly of Forge Village. He also leaves his beloved Yorkie, Lily.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pikey's Visitation on Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 until 7 PM at the Westford Healy Funeral Home, 57 N. Main Street, Westford. Funeral Services and Burial will be private.
