Gail (Kirkpatrick) Bradley, 90, died peacefully on August 5, 2024, while residing in a Memory Care facility in Rye, NH. Gail was born on October 9, 1933, in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Frank J. and Marie (Kelly) Kirkpatrick. Gail’s youth and formative years were spent in her hometown of Holyoke, MA. Although she lost her mother at an early age, Gail was blessed to have a loving father and extended family, including most notably her beloved Aunt Rae.
In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by a sister, Moira. She was also predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Robert F. (Bob) Bradley and daughter-in-law, Debbie Bradley. Surviving Gail are her five children, Robert of Brentwood, NH, David and wife Janet of Houston, TX, Stephen and wife Marcia of Canton, GA, Mary Dunn and husband Karl of Greenville, SC and Michael of Stratham, NH. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought her particular joy in her final years.
Gail was a graduate of Framingham Teachers College, but after a brief period of teaching, she chose to focus her energies on being a loving wife, mother and friend to many. As husband Bob’s career took the family around the world, Gail became the consummate corporate spouse – a role she embraced and at which she excelled. Every 3 or 4 years, as a consequence of Bob’s career, Gail would have to take charge of packing up one house and resettling in another, getting the kids into new schools, finding new doctors and dentists and all else that goes with a major move. She took on every assignment with energy, enthusiasm and good humor. Along the way, Gail’s kind and generous nature and wry sense of humor, led to the making of many good friends, with whom she strived to stay in touch throughout the years. To Gail, strangers truly were friends she just hadn’t met yet.
Gail’s later life was spent living in Westford, MA, the town where she and Bob made their last home together. A lifelong devout Catholic, Gail was very involved with the local Catholic church. For many years she enjoyed participating in Bridge Clubs and the Westford Garden Club. Gail spoke often of her many wonderful friends in Westford.
