Gregory G. Beskalo, III, a resident of Chester and Becket, MA, for the past four years, formerly of Westford, beloved husband of Diane Dunn, and step father of Abigail and Donovan Lee passed away on unexpectedly, on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Berkshire Medical Center. He was 75.
Born in Westford on August 1, 1943, he was a son of the late Gregory and Hazel (Gitschier) Beskalo.
Greg grew up in the Graniteville section of Westford, was educated in the Westford schools, graduated from Westford Academy and later Northeastern University with a degree in business.
Greg later enlisted in the Army where he served as an officer for 17 years. He was a well decorated veteran having earned the Bronze Star in the Vietnam War. He had attained the rank of Major at the time of his honorable discharge.
Greg most recently was working in the security industry as a security officer at the Lee Premium Outlets where he was loved and respected.
Greg was most recently active in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Pittsfield, but was a lifelong member of the Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church in Maynard. He was a faithful parish member.
An honest and generous person, Greg loved to read, especially history and was a lifelong devoted NY Giants fan.
Surviving Greg besides Diane, his wife of ten years and his stepchildren, are his sister Patricia Walsh of Pepperell; his nephews Mark and Scott Walsh and his three great nieces all of whom he loved with his characteristic fierce loyalty; and his beloved corgi Emma.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor and remember Greg on Thursday from 4 until 7 PM at the Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church, 15 Prospect St. Maynard. Pankhida Service to follow at 7:00PM. His funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church. Burial will be in the Russian Brotherhood Cemetery, Westford.
