Helen M. Connell

Helen M. (Lewkowicz) Connell, age 93, a lifelong resident of Westford passed away on Sunday December 18, 2016 at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward Connell.


She was born in Westford on October 12,1923 and a daughter of the late John and Amelia (Bielawski) Lewkowicz who fled Poland during World War I.


During WWII, she worked at Fort Devens as an assembler of tanks. Helen was employed as Commodore Foods in Westford as a packer for several years, and at Discom Display Components in Westford as an assembler prior to her retirement.


Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and breakfast with her grandson Brian, crocheting, knitting, gardening and baking.


She is survived by two children, Richard Connell of MA, James Connell and his wife Anne of Westford, three grandchildren Brian and Scott Connell of Westford and Colby Riddle of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews. She was the Mother of the late Linda Connell and sister of the late Josephine, Stella, Al, her twin Jennie, Eleanor and John Jr.
