Helen F. Krebs, age 91, passed away on July 30, 2020 in West Palm Beach, FL. A long time resident of Westford, MA, she is being buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford on July 31, 2021 (the date of her wedding anniversary) next to her beloved husband of 52 years, John Krebs, who passed away in 2018.
Helen was born in Woburn, MA on November 26, 1928 to Arthur and Helen McIntire. She grew up in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School in 1946. Following high school, she married William V. Cady in 1947 and had two children: William V. Cady, Jr. (1947 - 2019) and Sandra J. Cady (born 1949). She worked at Raytheon for many years where she met her soulmate, John Krebs. They married in 1965 and moved to Westford, MA where they lived for 35 years and had a son John Krebs Jr. (born 1967). Upon their retirement, Helen and John moved to Barefoot Bay, FL where they enjoyed the Florida sun and family visits.
Helen loved being with her family and friends — laughing, talking, eating and drinking. Their house at 49 Plain Road was always the center of activity where everyone was welcome and there was always great food and plenty of it. Family was incredibly important to her and the feeling was, of course, mutual. Our universe revolved around her. Her son Bill — who passed away in 2019 at the age of 71 — rarely missed a day when he didn't talk to his mother.
More than anything, she loved being with her beloved husband John. They were inseparable and a perfect evening was one spent sitting together and just talking. They balanced each other in a way that made both of their lives better, happier, and more complete. They also enjoyed taking cruises together, being with their friends and visiting with family. By her own account, she lived a life filled with love, happiness, family, and friends.
Helen is survived by her children Sandra Almeida and John Krebs, Jr.; grandchildren William Cady III, Stephen Doughty, Christopher Doughty, Lisa Cady, Timothy Doughty, Anna Krebs and Nicholas Krebs; niece Cheryl McIntire and nephew Arthur McIntire; along with several great-grandchildren.
