WESTFORD - Imre Szabo, 95, a resident of Westford, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Concepcion (Zavala) Szabo until her passing in 2011.
He was born in Vac, Hungary on December 2, 1925, a son of the late Borbala (Bajan) and Imre Szabo. He came to the United States in 1956 and proudly became a citizen in 1979.
He was an avid gardener and especially loved his rose bushes.
Imre is survived by his three children, Maria B. Norton and her husband, Paul of West Harwich, MA, Susan Wrisley and her husband, Peter of Hollis, NH, Imre Szabo Jr. of Nogales, Mexico; and his grandson, Max Szabo; as well as many nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat, Rusty.
It being his wish, there will be no visitation or services. He is now at rest with the love of his life, Concepcion, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford. At the family's request, please no flowers, in lieu, donations may be made in Imre's memory to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA 01854 or www.lowellhumanesociety.org/donate.
