WESTFORD - Jeannine J. (Heroux) Holmes, age 87, a lifelong resident of Westford, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. For sixty six years, she was the beloved wife of Thomas E. Holmes.She was born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada on May 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Raoul and Antoinette (Rathier) Heroux.Earlier in her career, Jeannine was employed as an office manager at D. T. Sullivan Oil Co. for many years and also at Picard Construction Company of Lowell prior to retiring. Jeannine and Thomas loved to travel during their retirement and spent many winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL.Jeannine was a fun loving, hard working and very giving person who woke up each day with a purpose. Whether it was braiding a rug, upholstering furniture or making draperies, she always had some sort of project in the works. Among her many interests, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, singing and crafts. Above all, family meant everything to Jeannine, especially her grandchildren who she adored. She was everyone's favorite "Auntie". Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her four children, Gary Holmes of Bradenton, FL, Brian Holmes and his wife Doris of Chelmsford, Barbara Holmes of Exeter, NH and Colleen Clark and her husband Tim of Brookline, NH; a sister, Dorothy Barnard of York, ME; her best friend who she thought of as a sister, Phyllis Fitzpatrick of Westford; seven grandchildren, Bria, Drew and Lacey Ansara, LeeAnn and Patrick Clark, Melissa Magnan and Tiffany Holmes; also four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Conrad "Coupe" Heroux.ARRANGEMENTS - At her request, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, June 25, 2016 at 9 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford.
