THOMASTON, CT - John Fridrich, Jr. age 97, passed away on Monday, January 19th, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Violet (Needham) Fridrich.
John was born in Cicero, IL on October 3, 1917, a son of the late John and Susanna (Sivacek) Fridrich. John was a longtime native of Thomaston, CT and also resided in Sequim, WA and Cape Cod, MA. He served in the US Army Air Corps, 8th AF in Horham, England during WWII. He worked for many years in Thomaston as a purchasing agent for the Seth Thomas Clock Co and Cooper Industries before his retirement.
He was an avid and excellent golfer his whole life, since the age of twelve.
He leaves his two sons, John S. Fridrich of Westford, MA and Wayne R. Fridrich and his wife Jodee of Terryville, CT; also three grandchildren, Cary Fridrich of Somerville, MA, Wayne Fridrich, Jr. of Terryville, CT and Kristin (Fridrich) Vagner of Reno, NV; two great grandchildren, Evan J. Fridrich of Westford, MA and Nico Vagner of Reno, NV; his cousin, Madeliene Panarelli of Lincoln, NE. He was the brother of the late Betty Fridrich.
