WESTFORD -- Leonard W. Smith, 95, of Hudson MA & Westford MA, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 9, 2014.
Lenny, as he was known by his friends & family, was born May 12, 1919 in London England. He was a WWII veteran who served in the British army. In 1960 Len brought his family to America. He was a loving brother, father, Papa, & Great Papa. Len was married to his predeceased loving wife, Freda (Kemp) Smith for 65 years and they raised 3 children together.
Lenny was always ready to tell you about life in England, war stories, or about how he painted Julia Child's kitchen! Len loved traveling to see his family in England. His last trip was in February 2014! He enjoyed playing the piano & singing, working on many household projects, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was always keeping busy!
Len is survived by his children, Michael Smith of Worcester MA, Geraldine Simons & her husband Stephen of Westford MA, and William Smith & his wife Teri of Leominster MA. He is survived by his grandchildren Jennifer Simons, Stephen Simons & his future wife Jennifer McManus, Lisa Simons & her fiance Kevin Kearns, Andrew & Daniel Smith, Ethan & Devon Smith, Ryan & Bryan Smith, and his great grandson Stephen W. Simons. Len is also survived by his older sister, Ivy Todd, 99, of London England.
Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 North Main Street, WESTFORD, on Wednesday, August 13 from 4 until 7pm. A prayer Service will conclude the visitation at 7 o'clock. Interment will be private.
