Lorraine M. Griggs

Lorraine M. (Caissie) Griggs, a longtime resident of Westford, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on March 23, 1934, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Medric and Bernadette (Lemieux) Caissie. Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter E. Griggs, who passed away in 1986.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Glen Griggs and his wife, Christine, with whom she resided. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Dennis Smith of Westford and her sister, Claire Horton of Poughkeepsie, NY.

Lorraine was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Melissa Magnan, Tiffany Holmes-Sears, Jared Smith and Zachary Bailey. She cherished her role as a great-grandmother to eight: T.J. Favreau, Samantha Daigle, Katelyn Magnan, Sophia Sears, Madelyn Smith, Jack Smith, Joe Smith and Blake Harris. Additionally, she was blessed with three great-great-grandchildren. She shared a special bond with her nieces and nephews, who were dear to her heart.

Lorraine was predeceased by her daughter, Diane (Griggs) Smith, as well as her siblings: Rita Gillis of Billerica, Roland Caissie of Florida and Eddie Caissie of Arizona.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lorraine’s graveside service on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Catherine Cemetery, Westford.
