Marie Aurea Rondeau

WESTFORD - Marie Aurea (Marcotte) Rondeau, age 80, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at her home in Westford, surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health. For fifty nine years, she was the beloved wife of George R. Rondeau.

She was born in Westford on December 20, 1934, the daughter of the late Prudent and Theodora (Ricard) Marcotte. Aurea was a lifelong resident of Westford and graduated from Westford Academy.

She was very active with the Friends of Cameron Senior Center in Westford where she served on the board of directors for many years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross stitching.

Besides her husband, George, she is survived by her five children, Susan Guillemette and her husband Donald of Westford, George "Rick" Rondeau and his wife Carol, Therese "Terry" Jacques, all of Pepperell, Rose Dewar and her husband Brad of Hubbardston and Joseph Rondeau and his companion Roseanne Viellette of Clermont, NH; a sister-in-law, Therese Groulx and her husband Ronald of Manchester, NH; eleven grandchildren, Nadine Rondeau, Meagan Reen, David Rondeau, Karen Rondeau, Michelle McDonald, Arthur Jacques, Adam, Erik and Scott Dewar, Ryan and Meg Rondeau; three great grandchildren, Connor, Orion and Oscar; also several cousins.

At her request, there will be no calling hours and services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Cameron Senior Center, P. O. Box 2223, Westford, MA 01886. Arrangements are in the care of the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., Westford.
