Nancy J. DuFresne

CHELMSFORD - Nancy J. (Carey) DuFresne, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in Chelmsford after a brief illness.

She was born in Lowell on October 29, 1940, a daughter of the late Ralph and Sadie (Luke) Carey. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Chelmsford and attended local schools.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a technical assembler at Raytheon in Andover for 35 years. Nancy enjoyed playing bingo with her friends, listening to music, and reading mystery novels with a good cup of tea. She loved, cared for, and adopted many cats over the years. She enjoyed spending time with her sister and best friend, Doris who lived next door to her. Above all, she treasured her family. She dedicated her life to raising her family and grandchildren, always going above and beyond for the people she loved.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph DuFresne, III of Shirley, and Mark DuFresne of Lee, NH; her sister, Doris McCarthy of Chelmsford; her five grandchildren, Joseph DuFresne, IV, Jared DuFresne, Viola DuFresne, Emily Francis and John C. Francis; three great grandchildren, Summer, Grace and Ella; also many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was the mother of the late Annette DuFresne, Peter DuFresne, Kimberley Francis and Matthew DuFresne and mother-in-law of the late John M. Francis. She also was the sister to 3 late sisters and 4 late brothers.

Arrangements - Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service on Tuesday afternoon, April 6, at 1pm at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 130 Billerica Rd., Chelmsford.
