Paula M. Ewers

Paula M. (Giere) Ewers of Westford, MA, formerly of Auburndale, MA, passed away on July 1, 2012. She was born in Cambridge, MA on November 4th, 1941. She was the beloved wife for 40 years of William, devoted mother of William J. and his wife Jenny of Florence, MA and Erika L. of Culver City, CA and Michael C. of San Rafael, CA, cherished grandmother "Ray Ray" of Liam, sister of Dr. Joseph W. and his wife Mary of Potomac, MD and Pocasset, MA, Richard V. and his wife Judy of Falmouth, MA, Gail Collins and her husband Atty. Francis E. of Northampton and Pocasset, MA. Paula will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She had a great passion for teaching English and poetry. She was very devoted to the success of all her students. Over the years she taught in the following school systems: Blessed Sacrament School in Alexandria, VA, Francis Wyman Middle School and Burlington High School in Burlington, MA, St. Margaret's School in Lowell, MA and Carlisle Middle School in Carlisle, MA. Paula was a member of the Westford Gardening Club, carrying through her love of gardening. She enjoyed a good game of golf, yoga, book club and volunteering at the library. Along with her other interests, playing bridge was just the best!Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 9th at the J. A. Healy Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 North Main St., Westford, MA. Burial will be at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paula's name to the J. V. Fletcher Library, 50 Main St., Westford, MA 01886.
