Raymond Zitta

May 28, 1920 — January 14, 2015

WESTFORD - Raymond Zitta, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Genesis Westford House. For seventy years, he was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Henze) Zitta who passed away November 4, 2013.

Raymond was born in New York City on May 28, 1920, the son of the late William and Carolina (Klecak) Zitta. He graduated from Bryant High School in New York, completed Naval Training in Electronics, and served in the US Navy During WWII on the USS Kankakee. He was a resident of Westford since 1972.

Raymond retired from GTE Labs in Waltham where he worked for thirty six years as an electronic technician. He was an ex-amateur radio operator W2MOA had many hobbies, including electronics, photography, music, model railroading and traveling. For the past several years, he occupied his time copying all his music and photos to digital memory.

Raymond is survived by a son, Robert W. Zitta and his wife, Melinda of Townsend; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Zitta of Norton, MA; two grandchildren, Steven Zitta of Attleboro and Erica Zitta of Taunton; and a great granddaughter, Katelyn. He was the father of the late Raymond C. Zitta.

Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD on Tuesday morning, Jan. 20 from 9:30 until 10:30am. His Funeral Service will follow at 11 o'clock at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford.
