Richard C. Haynes, 76, of Athol, MA, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Carol M. (Williamson) Haynes with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Bolton on June 15, 1946, he was a son of the late Walter V. and Beatrice (Harris) Haynes.
Richard was a graduate of Leominster Trade High School, Class of 1966.
Mr. Haynes served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
A machinist by trade, Mr. Haynes had been employed by Banner Mold of Leominster and Stan-Cast of Leominster.
He was a member of the Orange Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He had been active in the ministry, sharing his faith in God's promise of everlasting life on a paradise earth.
In addition to his wife Carol, he leaves three children, Christian D. Haynes of Royalston, MA, Angela M. Lopez and her husband Reinaldo Lopez, Jr. of Fitchburg and Amanda C. Melanson and her husband Kevin Melanson of Athol; three grandchildren, Illyana Lopez, Reinaldo Lopez, III and Aidan Melanson; two brothers, Walter Haynes of Inverness, FL and Kevin Heath of Athol, MA; a sister, Carol Vallance of W. Virginia; also several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Julia Ann Haynes and brother of the late Burton and Donald Haynes, Florence Brown and Maryellen Heath.
Private Burial will take place in the Green Cemetery, Carlisle.
