Richard William Clemente of Westford Massachusetts passed away peacefully Wednesday February 12, 202 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Chelsea he was the son of the late Gerald and Ida Clemente of Medford.
A loving father survived by his children Michael and Lisa Clemente Lohrum; Grandchildren Calista and Abigail Clemente, Madison and Frederick Lohrum; Godchildren Christopher Giuliana and Annette Giuliana Crnilovic.
Having worked at Polaroid in the 1970's, Richard helped pioneer the debut of the iconic instant camera.
He was known in the community as an avid horse shoe competitor, pool shooter and dart player. He metal detected local venues finding and returning treasures of times gone by. Tending to his lush gardens of raspberries, chances are if you ordered raspberry ice cream from Kimball's you reaped the rewards of his green thumb. A trophy fisherman, who still proudly displays his large-mouth bass caught on Long-Sought-For Pond, the lake he grew up on and fished till his later days. Richard loved and respected nature and the many animals that frequented his back yard. They no doubt will miss his generous feedings and the ability to roam his property as a sanctuary. He was also Bee Keeper. You might have tasted his honey at the Westford Farmers Market.
A Special thank you to the loving and caring staff of Tufts Medical Neurological Team for their unwavering care, we are forever grateful for your guidance.
Graveside services will be held for Richard on Friday, February 21st 11:00AM, at Wright Cemetery, Groton Road, Westford. All are welcome to join us in a farewell and celebration of life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Forgotten Angels Shelter, PO Box 112, Westford, MA 01886.
