Rick E. Hersey

WESTFORD - Rick Earle Hersey, age 76, a longtime Westford resident, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. For fifty years, he was the loving husband of Linda (Cyr) Hersey.

He was born in Bangor, ME on June 23, 1939, a son of the late Walter and Mary (Julian) Hersey.

Rick proudly served in the United States Navy, and subsequently graduated from Husson College.

Rick was a real estate broker for over 40 years, recently retiring from Coldwell Banker in Westford. Among Rick's many interests, he enjoyed vacationing in Maine, bicycle racing, golfing, working in his yard and was an avid fan of the Boston sports teams. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and would never miss his children and grandchildren's sporting events and other activities. He was extremely proud of their accomplishments.

Besides his loving wife Linda, Rick is survived by his beloved children, Lauren Loosigian and her spouse, Chris of Westford, Stephen Hersey and his spouse, Jessica of Alexandria, VA and Kathryn Hersey and her spouse, Kelly Maloy of Needham; seven treasured grandchildren, Alexandra, Victoria, Timothy, Stephen Jack, Summer, Benjamin and Liam; his dear siblings, Walter Hersey and his spouse, Judy, Brian Hersey and his spouse, Peggy, and Dail Hersey and her spouse, Colin Lees; and also many wonderful nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Friday, March 18, from 3 until 7pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
