Robert W. “Bobby” Crocker, age 69, a resident of Westford, previously of Lancaster, died unexpectedly at Lowell General Hospital on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Helena M. “Mickey” (McKniff) and Leonard E. Crocker.
He was born in Lowell on July 22, 1954. Upon graduation from Nashoba Tech, Bobby went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy as an AMH3 (E-4) Petty Officer, Third Class. He was stationed on his aircraft carrier, the USS Roosevelt, with fighter squadron eighty four, as an aircraft mechanic from 1972-1975. He later worked as a custodian for Westford Academy for many years after a fulfilling career in graphic arts.
Bobby was truly an outdoorsman who you could often find hunting and fishing. He also had a love for music, gardening, woodworking and most significantly, spending time at camp. Bobby was a man of expansive knowledge, which he often shared with healthcare providers as he courageously battled his extensive medical complications.
His greatest joy however, were his grandchildren, whom he cherished very much and enjoyed spending time with on his boat, “Mickey Sea.”
Bobby is survived and will be deeply missed by his two sons, James Crocker and his wife Melissa of New Ipswich, NH and William Crocker and his wife Danielle of Shrewsbury; his six grandchildren, Logan, Dominic, Jaxson, Kennedy, Casey and Bentley; his long-time partner, Kathy Brosseau; his four brothers, Richard Crocker and his wife Denise of Westford, David Crocker of Groton, Barry Crocker of Westford and Michael Crocker and his wife Michelle of Westford; his sister, Marea Joncas and her husband Jimmy of Westford; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his two brothers, Keith and Thomas Crocker and his former wife, Sussane Crocker.
