Shirley M. (Hill) Alcorn, a long time resident of Westford, MA passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 at Westford House Rehab Center following a period of declining health. She was the beloved significant other of Donald Santora, to whom she was with for 44 years.
She was born in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Ethel M. (Maclary) Hill. Shirley received her education in the Delaware school system and attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Prior to her retirement, Shirley was employed for many years as a bookkeeper by LoMedCo in Lowell, MA. Earlier in life she was employed for many years at the former Old Oaken Bucket Restaurant in Westford, MA.
In her earlier years, she took an active interest in Westford Town Government and had even helped document the Westford Town Report.
Shirley was very philanthropic, donating to several worthy charities, she was an avid reader and enjoyed doing puzzles and traveling.
In addition to Donald, Shirley is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheree and Carl Creighton of Brookline, NH and Andrea and Rick Haggerty of Westford, MA, a son, Michael Alcorn of MN; a daughter-in-law, Susan Dulac of Nashua, NH; six grandchildren, Amy Porter and her husband Shawn of Nashua, NH, Stephanie Alcorn of Nashua, NH, Arieanne Landry and her husband Taylor of Durham, NC, Zachary Creighton of Manchester, NH, Erin Haggerty of Westford, MA and Richard Haggerty III of Washington, DC; a great-grandson, Jace Porter of Nashua, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was also predeceased by her two sons Robert and Jeffrey Alcorn; as well as her brother Francis Hill and his wife Alice. In addition to her mother, Shirley was lovingly raised by late grandparents Howard and his wife Ethel Maclary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shirley’s visitation at the WESTFORD HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main Street, Westford, MA on Thursday, June 27th from 9:00am until 11:00am followed by Funeral Services at 11:00am. Burial will take place following services at Fairview Cemetery in Westford, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010 or at www.boystown.org, alternatively the Disabled American Veterans Org @ www.help.dav.org.
