Sigrid (Busch) Kerkmann

Sigrid (Busch) Kerkmann, a Groton resident and beloved wife of the late Adolf Gustave Kerkmann passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 following a brief illness. She was 93.

Sigrid was born in Remscheid, Germany on September 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Friedrich and Helene (Wegner) Busch.

Sigrid and Adolf were married in Germany and then Adolf emigrated to the United States following WWII. Sigrid joined him shortly thereafter at age 28. They first settled to Pawtucket, Rhode Island then Cape Cod before permanently settling in Groton in 1968.

In earlier years Sigrid worked as a dressmaker before staying home to raise her sons.

Surviving Sigrid are her two sons and a daughter in law, Michael and Lynn Kerkmann, Roger Kerkmann all of Groton; four grandchildren, Cristy Surette, Teresa Roux, Cathy Kerkmann and Ally Kerkmann. She was also the sister of the late Liesellotte Preuss.

Sigrid's funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford at 10:30 AM.
