Sophie W. (Woitowicz) Brule

WESTFORD - Sophie W. (Woitowicz) Brule, age 95, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at RiverCourt Residences in Groton after a short period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Raymond Brule who passed away in 1985.

She was born in Forge Village on July 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Florian and Sophie (Maselbas) Woitowicz. Sophie was a lifelong resident of Forge Village and was a graduate of Westford Academy and Bradshaw Business School.

She made her career as a Civil Servant beginning as a Secretary to the Post Chaplain at Fort Devens during WWII. Sophie retired 30 years later as a personal specialist at LG Hanscom Field in Bedford.

She was lifelong communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish and later in life, she attended St. Aloysius of Gonzaga Parish in Nashua, NH. Sophie enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. Above all, she was the loving caretaker of her family, having cared for her parents, siblings and even her friends.

She is survived by a niece, Anne Polak and her husband, Frank; nephews, Kevin Woitowicz and his wife, Rosemary, David Woitowicz and his wife, Jane and Mark Stevens and his wife, Jackie; also many grand nieces and grand nephews. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Laura, Aleck, Josephine, Gertrude and Florian.

Sophie's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at RiverCourt Residences and Nashoba Hospice for the exceptional care they provided for her during her time with them.

ARRANGEMENTS - Family and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Thursday morning, Oct. 25 from 8:30am to 9:30am. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment at St. Catherine Cemetery. in Lieu of flowers, contributions in Sophie's memory may be made to the Sgt. William Woitowicz Memorial Fund, 37 Madeline Dr., Groton, MA 01450.
