Veronica M. (Dzedulonis) Grenda, age 98, passed away at Westford House on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John E. Grenda who passed away in 1992. Veronica was born in Lowell on April 2, 1913, a daughter of the late Adam and Eva (Dzedulonis) Dzedulonis. She resided in Westford for the past 4 years and was formerly of Townsend and a longtime resident of Tewksbury. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a proof reader with Addison-Wesley Publishing of N. Reading and also Currier Citizen of Lowell. Veronica was a communicant of the former St. Joseph Lithuanian Parish in Lowell and was a member of the Ladies Sodality with the Immaculate Conception Parish. In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, reading, listening to music and traveling. She also enjoyed playing several musical instruments including the piano, organ and violin. Veronica was very proud of her Lithuanian heritage. In 1994 and again in 1999, she traveled with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dwight, to her native country to meet her uncle and many other relatives for the first time. She leaves two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Claire and Dwight Fitch of Townsend and Catherine Ouellette of DeLand, FL; two grandchildren, Karen Benyo and her husband Brett of Ayer and Jason Fitch of Driggs, Idaho; a great granddaughter, Olivia Benyo of Ayer; two sisters-in-law, Tina Dzedulonis of Chelmsford and Marie Grenda of Lowell; also several nieces, nephews and extended family in Lithuania. She was the mother-in-law of the late Peter Ouellette and sister of the late Joseph, Andrew and Francis Dzedulonis.Relatives and friends may call at the J.A. Healy Sons Funeral Home on Saturday morning, Dec. 10 from 8:30 until 9:30am. Her Funeral Mass will follow and will be celebrated at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine Church, Westford.
