William W. Wisnowski, age 94, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 18, 2019 at his home in Westford after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Doris S. (Allen) Wisnowski with whom he would have celebrated 74 years of marriage in February, 2020.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 4, 1925, a son of the late William and Sophie (Seiler) Wisnowski. William was a U.S. Army Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient of WWII.
Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was an electrical engineer with Raytheon in Bedford and Andover where he worked on the Patriot Missile Defense System for 10 years and previously worked for Sylvania earlier in his life.
Among Williams many interests, he enjoyed acting, singing, fishing and was an excellent silversmith. He was an actor with Community Players and sang in the First Parish Church and Littleton Congregational Church Choirs. He also enjoyed teaching and volunteering his time and engineering knowledge to Project Re-Seed, a program developed through Northeastern University for retirees to help educate future engineers through experiments and demonstrations.
Besides his loving wife, Doris, he is survived by his four children, Janet Seiler Rodrigues and her husband, Daniel of Florida, William Walter Wisnowski, Jr. and his wife, Lyn of Connecticut, Bonnie Snow Arpin and her husband, Robert of New Hampshire and George Edward Wisnowski and his wife, Dawna of Westford. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert Wisnowski and brother of the late Robert and Thomas Wisnowski.
Arrangements - A Celebration of William's Life will take place on Saturday morning, January 11, 2020 at 10 o'clock at the H.E. Fletcher Club, 11 Brookside Road, Westford, MA.
